Atomic probe ultra short pulse tomography THz (SATera)

The innovation proposed by Angela Vella, researcher at the Materials Physics Group, in collaboration with the Ammar Hideur team from the Interprofessional Aerothermochemistry Research Laboratory, consists in developing a tomographic atomic probe (SAT) assisted by ultra-short THz pulse. . This solution should allow better resolution and avoid deterioration of the sample to be analyzed. The goal of prematurity is to confirm proof of concept on metals and compare performance to standard probes. Potential applications relate to the characterization of materials, the analysis of interfaces in biology or the study of cell-drug interaction. They open the way to the market for manufacturers of analytical instruments or SAT players.
